Some features attached with hand mixers are balloon whisks or dough hooks. The price is less compared to stand mixer. This is well suited for the homemaker who makes cakes and cookies in small quantity.

Stand mixers are mounted on the stand and they are larger in size and fixed with large motor. It is provided with bowl that is locked in place when the mixer is operated. If the person makes breads and more complicated recipes then he can go for stand mixer. It has attachment like pasta roller and meat grinders that expands the usage of this mixer behind grinding. It is capable of grinding large quantity of food at high speed. This mixer is powerful than hand mixers and could be used to process large quantities of flour or other ingredients. Mostly the hand mixers are made up of plastic cover with stainless steel handle. The stand mixer is made up of plastic with the bowl in stainless steel.
